At Quality English, we take quality-assurance very seriously and we created a highly-qualified working committee comprising of QE staff, and owners and Academic Directors of QE schools from numerous countries to oversee the development of a quality-assurance process for QE Online Courses. Their brief was to ensure that they meet the same high standards that students and agents expect from QE schools and their on-site courses. The committee came together to review existing online courses and share best-practice amongst all QE Online Schools to help to reassure parents, students and agents that the student journey will reflect every aspect of the learning experience at a QE school.

We have launched a set of QE Online Learning Standards based on the following:

- Best practice from existing industry standards

- What QE expects from its licensed schools and colleges

- What agents expect

- What students expect

QE and QED schools have been asked to commit to these standards which look at all elements of their online provision, including:

- Assessment

- One-to-one tutorials

- Maximum class sizes

- Course textbooks and resources

- Teacher qualifications, CPD and appropriate training

- Functionality of learning platforms and integration with VLE/LMS

- Virtual staffrooms

- Online social programmes

- Online safeguarding policies

- Technical support

- Pastoral support

- Complaints procedure

- A commitment that QE/QED schools maintain the equivalent standards expected of their on-site courses.

So far, around thirty QE/QED schools have developed online courses. These have been added to their profiles on the QE website. Please contact the schools directly for more information. All schools that have committed to the QE Online Course Standards will now carry the new QE Online Logo.

QE e-Missions

QE remains fully committed to its trusted school and agent partners around the World. Last Thursday, we hosted our first official QE e-Mission which brought together 26 of our schools with 48 Quality Agents across two sessions. Our e-Missions are designed to provide our licensed schools and trusted agent partners a virtual space to discuss their online courses (and the future) and are being offered free of charge to our licensees.

We will be rolling out a schedule of e-Missions over the coming months that will focus on particular course types or destinations. So watch this space for a great opportunity to meet with our schools on a dynamic and user-friendly platform!
